Bodenham Parish Council Notice

Planning Applications and Decisions
The Parish Council considered six planning applications at its July and August Meetings. No objection was made to the following applications:

  • 171771: Peas Green: Proposed two storey side extension.

  • 163115: Land East of Pine Lodge, Dinmore, Herefordshire, HR1 3JR : A new house and detached garage to replace the collection of previously inhabited structures . (Appeal against refusal).

  • 172384/AM: Bodenham Manor: Proposed non-material amendment to planning permission ref 162506 (Demolition of former buildings and erection of three detached dwellings).

  • 172854/XA2: Land adjacent to Stoneleigh: approval of details reserved by condition.

  • The Parish Council objected to the following planning applications:

  • 172549: Land at Brockington Hall: Proposed development of existing part of garden for two detached dwellings.

  • 172552: Ashgrove Croft: Proposed two additional mobile homes, two touring caravans and the construction of a day room, associated hard standing drainage and re- aligned access track.

  • The Parish Council’s responses to planning applications can be viewed on Herefordshire Council’s website.

Litter Pick Dates for your Diary
The dates of the next three Litter Picks have been set and are:

  • 4th November 2017

  • 24th March 2018

  • 3rd November 2018

  • Lorries
Occasionally lorries stray on to narrow roads such as Chapel Lane, Dunfield Lane and Ketch Lane. If you see a lorry on a narrow road, please tell the Parish Clerk about it. The day, time and direction should be sufficient for the lorry to be traced, but a registration number, company name or, best of all, a photograph help greatly. Most errant lorries are going to S&A in Marden or to Berrington Water and are following their satnavs rather than the road signs. S&A are always very helpful in tracing and correcting the miscreants.

    Improving the Playground
The Parish Council’s Sub-Committee - set up to consider how the money from the developers of England’s Field earmarked for improvements to the playground is to be spent - has met twice. At the first meeting a questionnaire was devised to gather views, to which 25 replies were received. The results can be viewed on the Parish Council website - www.bodenhamparish.org.uk . The Sub-Committee expects to invite proposals and quotations from playground installers shortly.

    Improving Transport Infrastructure in Bodenham
The Parish Council has also received money from the developers of England’s Field for improvements to transport infrastructure, and, as above, has set up a Sub-Committee to consider how the money is to be spent, and, as above, too, parishioners will be consulted before any decisions are made. Watch this space, too.

    Defibrillator Training
The Parish Council intends to hold a free session for anyone interested in learning how to use the four defibrillators located in Bodenham. Watch this space.

    Parish Meetings
The remaining Meetings of the Parish Council in 2017 will take place at 7.30pm on Mondays 4th September, 2nd October, 6th November and 4th December at the Siward James Centre.
