Bodenham Parish Council Notice

Annual Meetings.
The Parish Council meeting on 14th May will be preceded by the Annual Parish meeting and the Annual Parish Council meeting, beginning at 7pm. All local organisations, groups and societies are encouraged to submit an annual report on their activities for consideration at the Annual Parish meeting and subsequent inclusion on the parish website. Please send any report to the Parish Clerk by 7th May. If you wish to present your report, please inform the Parish Clerk. A projector is available.

Litter Pick.
The latest Litter Pick - held on Saturday 24th March - was the most successful ever. 30 bags of rubbish were collected, plus two tyres, a cable drum, other large objects and, no kidding, a large squashed litter bin. To see a photograph of all these items please click on the ‘more details’ link below.

In alphabetical order the 23 litter pickers were: Rebecca and Tim Burnill, Kay and Tony Clark, Ade and Daz Collins, Wendy and Dave Curd, Jennifer Easson, Robin George, Natasha Hallam, Frank Hulme, Tom James-Moore, Louise Little, Susan and Andrew Maxwell, Tony Mitcheson, Nan Murdoch, Jenny Nicolson, Sally Pointer, Piers Roberts, Chris Smith. Thanks are also due to Babs Mitcheson for preparing the soup and coffee, Jeff and Lyn Pollard for the bread rolls and Balfour Beatty for providing the equipment and removing the rubbish. The next Litter Pick will be held on Saturday 3rd November.

Planning Applications.
The following planning applications were considered at the Parish Council meeting on 9th April:

  • 180696: Land at The Walled Garden: Application for variation of condition 2 of planning permission P162506/F. To enable alternative dwelling design.

  • 180600: Upper Maund Farm: Proposed agricultural buildings to replace storm damaged buildings.

  • The Parish Council made no objection to either application. The detailed comments made by the Parish Council can be seen on the Herefordshire Council Planning website at
https://www.herefordshire.gov.uk/info/200142/planning_services/planning_application_search . The comments made at the Parish Council Meeting can be found in the Minutes of Parish Council Meetings on the Parish website at http://www.bodenhamparish.org.uk/ParishCouncilMinutes.asp.

At the Siward James Centre on Saturday 14th April two playground suppliers presented their proposals for replacing the Playground with a new modern facility. Although the presentations were not well attended, useful feedback was obtained, which may enable the Parish Council to decide on a new design at its Meeting on 14th May. It is possible - but by no means certain - that a new playground may be installed by the end of the summer.

Vacancy on the Parish Council (Update)
The vacancy on the Parish Council has still not been filled. The Parish Council would like to co-opt a new councillor at its Meeting on 14th May. If you would like to nominate yourself or someone else, please contact either the Chairman of the Parish Council or the Parish Clerk before the Meeting. Their contact details are shown below.

The system is easy to use and will soon be re-vamped to make it even easier. It is easier still at https://www.fixmystreet.com/.

    Parish Meetings.
The next Meeting of the Parish Council will take place at 7.00pm on Monday 14th May and will be preceded by the Annual Parish Meeting and Annual Parish Council Meeting. The Meeting thereafter will take place on Monday 4th June at 7.30pm. All meetings take place at the Siward James Centre. Everyone is most welcome to attend and to raise any matters of concern during the slot reserved for this purpose. If you prefer, you can raise matters in advance by contacting Chris Smith, Parish Clerk, on 01568-797132 or by email at bodenhampcclerk@gmail.com.
