Bodenham Parish Council Notice

Parish and County Council Elections.
There was an uncontested election for Bodenham Parish Council on 2nd May. Nine councillors were elected. Consequently, there is a vacancy on the Parish Council, which will be filled by co-option at the Parish Council Meeting on 3rd June. Anyone wishing to stand should contact the Parish Clerk immediately.

The result of the contested election for Hampton Ward on Herefordshire Council was that Bruce Baker received 468 votes, while John Harrington received 611 votes and was duly elected. The Parish Council wishes to record its thanks to Bruce Baker for the work he did for Bodenham while he was Hampton Ward Councillor.

Planning Applications
Planning application 174285/F: Land at Brockington Hall had been opposed by both the Parish Council and Herefordshire Council. The applicant appealed. The appeal was rejected. The reasons behind the appeal decision can be found on the Herefordshire Council website.

Planning application 191417: Moor Court Farm: Proposed farm road, concrete areas to apply harvesting pad and open sided cover for grading machine was considered by the Parish Council at its Meeting on 13th May, when the Parish Council made no objection to the application.

Dog Fouling……..
…. continues to be a concern. If your dog fouls in a public place, you should clean up the mess. Always carry a poop scoop, which is a specially designed plastic shovel, or a bag to carry the mess to a bin. Dog owners should not allow their pets to foul at random in public areas. You can report dog fouling at https://www.herefordshire.gov.uk/info/200226/report_a_problem/115/dogs

Fly Tipping………
……… also continues to be a concern, particularly in Smeadals Lane, where quantities of what appears to be animal bedding are frequently dumped. Fly tipping is a criminal offence. It can be reported at https://www.herefordshire.gov.uk/info/200226/report_a_problem/98/fly_tipping.

Adult Exercise Equipment
A consultation was held seeking views about installing adult exercise equipment on the Village Green. Although the results of the consultation showed considerable support for this, it was felt that there had been insufficient responses to the questionnaire to justify proceeding at this point. It was also felt that the Parish would benefit from the creation of a Parish Facebook page in order to reach a wider audience. This is being investigated.
