PARISH COUNCIL NEWS (DECEMBER 2019/ JANUARY 2020)

The Litter Pick………….
………. on Saturday 2nd November was cancelled due to the heavy rain in the morning, but some litter was collected on Friday 1st and, by using a quad bike, on Saturday 2nd. The next litter pick will be held on Saturday, 21 March 2020.

Planning Applications
No planning applications came before the Parish Council at its November Meeting. One planning application - 193727: Land at Stone House: Proposed erection of a two bedroom cottage - was received too late for consideration, but will be considered at the Parish Council Meeting on 2nd December, as will 193890: Barns at Hill House: Notification of Prior Approval for a proposed Change of Use of Agricultural Building to a Larger Dwelling House (Class 3), and for Associated Operational Development.

Vacancies on the Parish Council
Following the resignations of Councillors Claire Pickard and David Tilford, there are two vacancies on the Parish Council, which will be filled by co-option in due course, after approval has been given by Electoral Services at Herefordshire Council. There is no Newsletter in January, so, if the vacancies can be filled before or on the Parish Council Meeting on 3rd February, notices will be placed on thia Website and the noticeboards.

Parish Council Facebook Page.
The Parish Council now has a Facebook page to complement the Website. Click ‘bodenham parish council’ and press ‘LIKE’. The Parish Website address is www.bodenhamparish.org.uk/.

Keep up to Date with Local Issues - Sign Up for the Mailing List
An increasing number of residents are joining the mailing list, through which the Parish Council sends important updates to local residents by email with information about such things as roadworks, weather warnings and local events. Nevertheless, there are currently fewer residents signed up than we would like and still fewer proportionately than on Stoke Prior’s list (which Bodenham residents can join, if they wish).If you would like to join the list, email Chris Smith at bodenhampcclerk@gmail.com. You won’t be deluged with email, your personal details will not be passed on to anyone else and you can unsubscribe at any time.

Minutes of Parish Council Meetings…….
……………can be found on the Parish Council Website at http://www.bodenhamparish.org.uk/ParishCouncilMinutes.asp.. Latest highlights from the unconfirmed minutes of the November Meeting include:

  • a feasibility study has been received from Balfour Beatty/Herefordshire Council for putting a pavement between the end of Ash Grove Road and the start of the pavement at England’s field;
  • a litter bin has now been installed outside the School;
  • planning permission has been obtained to remove the large conifer in the school car park.

  • Parish Council Meetings
