Following the resignations of Councillors Alec Avery, Claire Pickard and David Tilford, there are three vacancies on the Parish Council, which will be filled by co-option at the Parish Council Meeting on 2nd March, unless a request for an election is received by Herefordshire Council by 6th February. Notices about the procedure to be followed in requesting an election appear on all the noticeboards and on the Parish Website. Please express your interest and/or seek further information from the Parish Clerk or the Chairman (contact details below).

The Next Litter Pick………….

Bodenham Lake
Sophie Cowling of Herefordshire Wildlife Trust will give a talk about the work of the Trust at Bodenham Lake on the 27th February at the Parish Hall at 7.30pm. This is at the instigation of the Parish Council, which was concerned about the virtual disappearance of the new islands at the Lake after the recent flooding.

Planning Applications
The following planning applications came before the Parish Council at its December and January Meetings.:

  • 193727: Land at Stone House: Proposed erection of a two bedroom cottage. The Parish Council objected to this application, which was subsequently refused by Herefordshire Council, which cited several of the policies in the Bodenham Neighbourhood Development Plan as reasons for the refusal.
  • 193890: Barns at Hill House: Notification of Prior Approval for a proposed Change of Use of Agricultural Building to a Larger Dwellinghouse (Class 3), and for Associated Operational Development. The Parish Council objected to this application, which was subsequently refused by Herefordshire Council.
  • 194272: Lady Mead: tree works in a conservation area. The Parish Council did not respond to this application.

Keep up to Date with Local Issues - Sign Up for the Mailing List
An increasing number of residents are joining the mailing list, through which the Parish Council sends important updates to local residents by email with information about such things as roadworks, weather warnings and local events. Nevertheless, there are currently fewer residents signed up than we would like and still fewer proportionately than on Stoke Prior’s list (which Bodenham residents can join, if they wish). If you would like to join the list, email Chris Smith at bodenhampcclerk@gmail.com. You won’t be deluged with email, your personal details will not be passed on to anyone else and you can unsubscribe at any time.

    Minutes of Parish Council Meetings…….
……………can be found on the Parish Council Website at http://www.bodenhamparish.org.uk/ParishCouncilMinutes.asp.. Latest highlights from the unconfirmed minutes of the December Meeting include:

  • the phone box library has been renovated.
  • the Neighbourhood Development Plan is to be reviewed.
  • the large conifer in the school car park has been felled, but the stump has yet to be removed.
  • …. And much more.

  • Parish Council Meetings
Please note that the next Meetings of the Parish Council will take place at 7.30pm on Mondays 3rd February 2020 and 2nd March at the Siward James Centre. Everyone is most welcome to attend Parish Council meetings and to raise any matters of concern during the slot reserved for this purpose. If you prefer, you can raise matters in advance by contacting Chris Smith, Parish Clerk, on 01568 797132 or by email at bodenhampcclerk@gmail.com.
